Wang Sao Thong Waterfall Samui

Wang Sao Thong Waterfall Samui is located off the ring road 4169. At the Mummified Monk Temple turn right and continue on the road past Samui ATV and the Elephant Trekking. The waterfall is a short distance from the Nu Muang Waterfalls. Wang Sao is accessible by scooter or car and parking is available at a cost of 20baht per vehicle. From the car park head through the jungle and follow the signs to discover Wang Sao Thong Waterfall.

Reaching Wang Sao Thong Waterfall Samui from the road is a hike of approximately 1km. The trek to the fall is through the thick lush jungle. The jungle surrounding and density is not easiest of waterfall climbs. There are no restaurants at the falls, just a small shop for refreshments on site. A perfect opportunity to sit at the small picnic area spending a few hours in a tropical paradise in the Gulf of Thailand. The falls are built into the rocky mountain of Koh Samui. Wang Sao Thong Waterfall Koh Samui is surrounded by huge boulders, the sound of nature, it is a relaxing spot to escape the busy tourist attractions. Wang Sao Thong Waterfall Samui is not the most impressive of waterfalls in comparison to Hin Lad Waterfall or the Nu Muang Waterfalls. Photo enthusiasts have some great opportunities to capture the tropical jungle and the plantations amongst the raging rock formations.

Advice for Wang Sao Waterfall Samui

  • Be cautious under foot rocks maybe slippy especially over the tree roots, the rocks, and the boulders.
  • Check the water depth and the rocks under the water before jumping into any of the pools.
  • Fitness levels are important for the climbs. 
  • Do not visit waterfalls in the dark or in bad weather.
  • Inform your hotel or friends you are going in the jungle.
