Bang Rak Beach Samui

Located north of the island is Bang Rak Beach Samui. Conveniently situated for Samui Airport. Public buses and taxis frequent the main road. The area is a key point for boats to the neighbouring island of Koh Phangan. Bang Rak Beach area is not a busy beach in comparison to Chaweng or Lamai beaches. Bang Rak Beach Koh Samui is sometimes referred to as Big Buddha Beach due to its close proximity to the temple.

Beach

Bang Rak Beach Samui is two areas consisting of the piers and the sandy beach. There are three piers on Bang Rak Beach within walking distance of each other. The ocean between the piers is not suitable for swimming. The fuel and fumes from the boats and jet skis make the water greasy and oily. To the left of the piers, the beach and water transform to soft sandy shores fringed with coconut palms and warm tropical waters for swimming. The views from Bang Rak Beach are amazing of the islands and surrounding coastline.

Vendors on Bang Rak Beach Samui are few, those who work the beach sell fruit drinks and general tourist gifts. Beach vendors also sell freshly cooked chicken, corn on the cob and pork cooked on homemade barbecues with peppers and Thai spices. Do not be afraid to try the beach food it is delicious. Massage huts are scattered along the beachfront prices starting at 200baht for a basic Thai massage. Massage salas start at 250baht for an hour in air-conditioned surroundings.

Sunset

The sun set over Bang Rak Beach Samui is breathtaking. The evening sky is aglow with vibrant colours and shadows from the force of nature. Photographers flock to this part of the island to capture the perfect landscape. Bars along the shoreline have spectacular views including the top of Big Buddha Statue on Koh Fan causeway. Popular at sunset is ISUP Paddleboarding out on the ocean witnessing the spectacular of nature’s lights. Big Buddha Pier is busy with locals and tourists taking the last boats from the pier to other islands. restaurants on the beach offer intimate dining experiences for couples. Sun beds and relaxing chairs on the beach create a wonderful vibe to watch nature take it course.

Local Area

The nightlife is laid back with no lady bars so suitable for families. On the ocean front is a great selection of eateries and bars serving Thai and International food. A few bars and restaurants with live music and sports bars line the main street. A relaxed nightlife with no nightclubs. A 10-minute drive takes you to the temples of Big Buddha and Plai Laem temple, popular tourist attractions on the island.

Watersports

For thrill seekers, there are ample watersports available on Bang Rak Beach. Samui Pier Beach Resort has a host of water sports from jet skis to private island tours. Note

The planes are evident at Bang Rak Beach Samui the flight path is directly above the beach for take-off and landing. The first planes are 6 am and the last at 10 pm. The noise from the planes does not deter from this beach. The planes attract tourists to capture photographs at sunset and throughout the day. Children also find the planes a delight.
