Bang Kao Beach Samui

On the south coast of the island in the Gulf of Thailand lies Bang Kao Beach Samui. Bang Kao is a 20-minute drive to the busier beaches of Lamai and Chaweng on the east coast of Samui. The south of Koh Samui Island is not as commercialised as the east coast of Samui. There are limited shops and bars in Bang Kao Beach Samui. There are no girlie bars or nightclubs in Bang Kao or the south of Samui. The Songthaew public transport does not operate in the Bang Kao area of Samui. Hire a car or scooter to explore Bang Kao and the surrounding areas of Samui.

Family Friendly

On Bang Kao Beach Samui, the local Thai fishermen anchor their traditional longboats at the shore. The fisherman’s wives sit on the shore of Bang Kao repairing the fishing nets. As the sunsets on Samui Island, the fishermen leave the shores of Bang Kao for their nightly fishing expeditions. Book boat tours to the islands of Koh Madsum and Koh Taen at the local bars and restaurants. Explore the rocks and discover the hidden Buddha temple in a cave. The Bang Kao Beach is a family-friendly beach in the forest and jungle of tropical Koh Samui.

Temples

The Laem Sor Pagoda is positioned on Bang Kao Beach Samui. There are panoramic views of the ocean and beyond from the Pagoda in Bang Kao. In the grounds of the Pagoda, there is a forest picnic area and a shop to purchase refreshments. In the forest of Samui above the Laem Sor Pagoda is the Wat Khao Chedi the Rattanakosin Chedi.
