Mae Nam Beach Samui

Located on the Island’s north shore is Mae Nam Beach Samui. Bang Por to the west and Fisherman’s Village to the east. The town is on the main 4169 ring-road. Boasting a long stretch of pristine beach. Ideal for swimming in the deep waters. Mae Nam Beach Samui is set back quite far from the main road so there is little traffic noise. A spot in paradise to enjoy a long walk on the beach or find a shady spot under a coconut palm to enjoy a book.

Swimming & Watersports

The water is clear and calm and ideal for swimming most of the time. Mae Nam Beach Samui is an ideal family beach break. Kite-surfers catch the breeze when the winds are favourable. Resorts and beach cafés line the shores to a lesser degree than busy Chaweng Beach.

Mae Nam Beach Samui a good option to be away from tourist areas but also close enough to the action. Fisherman’s Village is a five-minute drive and a 15-minute drive will take you to Chaweng. With sweeping vistas across the bay to Koh Phangan home of the infamous Full Moon Party.

Market in Mae Nam

On Thursday evenings locals expats and tourists gather near the Chinese temple for the weekly ‘walking-street market’. Here you can enjoy cocktails for 60B. Sample deep-fried crickets, listen to local bands and enjoy the authentic ambience of street food and do a spot of people-watching.

Mae Nam Pier

Go through the grounds of the Wat Na Phra Lan temple to the Lomprayah Pier. High-speed catamaran ferry departs daily to Koh Phangan, Koh Tao and on to the mainland town of Chumphon where you can travel by bus to Bangkok. Mae Nam’s proximity to the fast ferry makes it an ideal stopover for those in transit to the Full Moon Party.

Before the bridge, a newly constructed road now joins Mae Nam to Lamai. The road cuts through the interior avoiding the ring road. This alternative route will allow you to experience another side of Samui. There are farmlands, tiny traditional houses, buffalo and rural life. The road climbs in altitude as you round bends enabling views of Samui from a new perspective.

Mae Nam Hills home to the Santiburi Golf Course and Country Club one of Asia’s finest golf courses. Fairways and greens are set in 23 acres of typical tropical surroundings. With views over the bay and neighbouring islands makes it hard to keep your focus on the game.
