Chaweng Beach Samui

Stretching 5km from Choeng Mon in the north to Chaweng Noi at its southern tip is Chaweng Beach Samui, Thailand. A popular and commercial beach for party-goers. Vendors patrol the main Chaweng Beach Samui selling everything from beach bags to snacks, bikinis to henna tattoos.

Beach Bars, clubs and restaurants cram the coastline of Chaweng Beach Samui. Midrange bungalows to 5-star luxury resorts are in abundance on Chaweng’s beaches. The hotels set-out sun loungers for their customer’s exclusive use on the beach. Visiting guests must purchase food or drink to use the sun loungers and the hotel’s facilities. Some of the facilities are for exclusive use by hotel guests and clearly sign-posted.

Water sports and diving are on offer along the beach of Chaweng. Kayaks, hobby-cats, windsurfers and jet skis as well as the now popular ‘Jetlev’. Massage Salas are every hundred metres along the beach offering massages and pedicures from 200 baht.

Evening

As the sun goes down Chaweng Beach Samui transforms. On the waters-edge, sun loungers are replaced with candle lit tables. Fairy lights light up the palm trees and beaches. Fresh seafood is set out on display for guest selection. At the front of 5-star resorts are romantic intimate dining experiences. Beach bars such as Ark Bar become a party hub. DJs entertain partygoers with the party vibe. The beach is long enough to get away from the noise if you prefer a more laid-back scene.

The street-front of Chaweng Beach Samui is a commercial shopping area. Market stalls offer cheap imitation goods. Countless tailors offering custom-made fashions at reasonable prices. Central Festival is Samui’s first mall and offers big brands and a fun open-air shopping experience. The shopping mall is a short walk from Chaweng Beach Koh Samui.

Cafes and Restaurants at Chaweng Beach Samui,

Restaurants and bars line the street and side alleys of Chaweng Beach Koh Samui. Choices are street food selling Satays and banana pancakes to fine-dining options. Fast food outlets such as McDonalds and Starbucks make you realise you are in the heart of Koh Samui’s tourist district. Along the Chaweng strip, you will find Samui’s nightclub scene. A drive on the Ring Road between Chaweng and Lamai offers some of the most breathtaking views of the island. The bay of Chaweng Noi, and Chaweng Hills separate Chaweng and Lamai by way of steep hills, dramatic cliffs and rock formations. Resorts built precariously on huge rock boulders overlook the Bay offering spectacular views over the island.
