Rattanakosin Chedi
The golden statues glisten against the striking white Chedi at Laem Sor. Surrounding the Chedi are small white buddhas in golden robes sitting in the traditional position. A monk statue sits with his pupils teaching the word of Buddha and Buddhist culture.

Hin Ta Hin Yai
The rock formation is affectionately named Hin Ta Hin Yai Koh Samui. The rocks replicate the male and the female genitals. A children’s playground is located next to the rocks. The Rock Bar in Koh Samui sits above the rocks.

The huge statue of Luang Po sits on a lake in a boat. Climb the stairs of the boat for spectacular views of the surrounding island. Toss a coin into one of the lucky urns in the lake at the entrance to Luang Po Thuat Temple Koh Samui.

Bang Rak Beach Samui is two areas consisting of the piers and the sandy beach. There are three piers on Bang Rak Beach within walking distance of each other. The ocean between the piers is not suitable for swimming.

Guan Yu Shrine
Guan Yu Shrine
Officially opened in January 2016 the Guan Yu Shrine is 16 meters in height. The Big Buddha Statue in Kao Fan is 12 meters and Guan statue 4 meters taller. The Guan statue stands at the same height as the Big Buddha without the pedestal the statue sits on.

Wat Laem Sor Pagoda Samui is an extraordinary temple. Perched on the rock of the stunning beach below with a smaller temple housing the bodies of two mummified monks. Gleaming in the sunshine the Pagoda has amazing unrivalled views of the beach, skyline and surrounding islands.

Wat Lamai Temple Folklore Museum
Located in Ban Lamai on the main road is the Wat Lamai Temple Folklore Museum Koh Samui. Positioned on a sharp bend in the heart of Lamai. Two huge Yak statues stand majestically either side of the entrance to Lamai Temple.

Originally for the eco-tourists, the route to the falls is now abandoned. Parking at the waterfall is at the roadside. Lipa Noi is a beautiful part of Samui with affordable hotels and tropical beaches. Koh Samui expats choose to live in Nathon away from the busier tourist areas of Lamai and Chaweng.

The Siva Tara Waterfall is a popular tourist attraction. The waterfalls are easily accessible by scooter or car. There are bathroom facilities and a car park at the falls. Siva Tara is set amongst the lush jungle with amazing views of the Island.

Secret Buddha Garden
Secret Buddha Garden
Designed and built by a Durian farmer Nim Thongsuk. Spending his life farming durian fruit at the age of 77 years he began to build. He was famous in Samui for his durian farming. The gardens began in 1976. He chose to build the gardens for others to have a spiritual place to meditate at one with nature.
