Located off the ring road 4169 in Lamai is the Siva Tara Waterfall Samui. The falls are situated behind the Lamai Post Office. The Lamai Viewpoint is at this location too. The Siva Tara Waterfall is a popular tourist attraction. The waterfalls are easily accessible by scooter or car. There are bathroom facilities and a car park at the falls. Waterfall

The waterfall is not one of the larger falls on the Island but worth a visit. A shower of water streams down the time-worn rock formations. Below the falls is a cooling natural pool trickling along a small stream swirling around the terrace. The water is cool and refreshing and safe for children to enjoy. Climbing to the peak of the waterfall is steep climb but manageable.

Valentine Rock

On a terrace in the beautifully manicured gardens sits the Valentine Stone. The entrance fee 30 baht. The stone is a heart shape attracting many couples to visit for a romantic photo. There are benches dotted around a well-maintained garden a perfect place for photographs. The rocks history comes from a local who saw the opportunities of its unusual beauty and opened as a tourist attraction. Folktale says that if couples touch the stone their love will last for eternity. Another large inscription of the word love next to the stone offers great pictures too.

Fish Peeling at The Siva Tara Waterfall Samui

The small pools at Siva Tara Waterfall Samui offer fish peeling massage for 250baht. The fish peeling is known to the locals as funny fish. You can not help but laugh once the fish start tickling your feet. Relax in the mountain setting whilst the fish suck the dead skin from your feet. The fish are generally Garra Rufa approximately 5cm long they have no teeth.

Viewpoint

Following the path alongside the boulders, the hike to the viewpoint will take about 15 minutes. Entrance fee 300baht. The ascent is quite steep use the handrails provided. At the observation deck, you have panoramic views of Koh Samui Island. A small play area and a restaurant offer a relaxing pit stop. Cable rides through the mountain cost 800baht. Safety equipment is provided. Gliding along rock formations and the thick forest is an experience for all ages.

Advice

  • Be cautious under foot rocks maybe slippy especially over the tree roots rocks and boulders.
  • Check water depth and rocks under the water before jumping into any of the pools.
  • Fitness levels are important the climbs are slippy and steep.
  • Follow the signage and safety advice.
