Chaweng Lake Koh Samui

Chaweng Lake Koh Samui is located northeast of the island and is a hive of activity. The Koh Samui Boutique Airport is a ten minute from the lake. The lake is a meeting place for locals and tourists on the island. The beach is approximately a 30-minute walk from Chaweng Lake. There are ample public transport options from the lake to access the island. There is no shade in the lake area so dress appropriately for the Samui sunshine.

Activities Chaweng Lake

The lake area is host to local festivals and live events visited by locals and tourists. In the early morning as the sun rises the lake area comes alive with joggers and yoga sessions. There are people exercising around lake throughout the day. The yoga sessions are free and an optional choice of making a donation. The organised exercise classes at Chaweng Lake cost 10 baht to join. There are no pedal boats or fishing at the lake. Everybody is welcome to use the open space of the lake it is public area and encourages families to join the fun. It is common to see families, couples and friend groups with a picnic enjoying the lake area. There are random games of football and everyone is welcome to join.

The area around and on the lake has great accommodation offers. For the travellers on a budget, Samui Lakeside Hostel is an excellent choice for facilities and location to the nightlife. There are other options available from guesthouses to hotels around the Chaweng Lake.

Nightlife At Chaweng Lake

Located on the lake is the largest reggae pub on the island of Samui. The pub offers local and international beers and has fantastic live music evenings. Around the lake are bars and restaurants to enjoy the Thai hospitality. A street market opens every evening opposite the lake.
